John Patrick O’Rourke, 32, of Normal, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at his home from natural causes.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 9 a.m. - 12noon on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington.

He was born September 21, 1984 in Bloomington, IL, son of Michael O’Rourke and Suzanne Broderick.

Surviving are his mother, Suzanne Broderick of Normal; father, Michael (Mary Ellen) O’Rourke of Bloomington; his brother, Michael (Laura) O’Rourke of Puyallup, WA and his sister, Beth (Dan Lindoerfer) O’Rourke of Palm Harbor, FL and his nephews, Collin and Connor O’Rourke of Puyallup, WA.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John “Dewey” and Elizabeth O’Rourke and his maternal grandparents, James and Lucille Broderick.

John was a graduate of Bloomington High School. He worked at Jewel-Osco in Bloomington.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association on John’s behalf.
